ZEROISH is a Portuguese brand. Ocean to the left, hills to the right. Nature is its inspiration and ZEROISH was born from the founders desire to venture into creating a business based on two fundamental pillars: sustainability and transparency. Then came the idea of compostable phone cases, and at the end of 2020, Joana and Diogo created ZEROISH.
The ZEROISH cases are made from a mixture of bioplastics and bamboo fibers 100% compostable. The brand intends to facilitate the transition from a conventional plastic phone case by creating an eco-friendly option that does not compromise the design.
The phone cases are manufactured in the city of Dongguan, China. The factory where they are produced has a Quality Management System certified by ISO 9001:2015. The base material meets E.U. (EN 13432) and U.S. (ASTM D6400) standards for composting in an industrial composting facility.
All orders are shipped plastic-free, using the smallest possible mailer made from kraft paper and sealed with a paper sticker (certified by FSC).
It also includes a seed card so that you can plant your own Chamomile and reduce your carbon footprint, and a handmade bag that you can keep using to carry your daily goods.
In partnership with Mossy Earth, the brand plant trees in areas that have been destroyed by wildfires or illegal logging. This way, Zeroish not only offsets some of its carbon emissions, but helps restore key ecosystems by attracting wildlife back to these areas.
Every year 1.5 billion phone cases are discarded. Only 5% of the plastic is recycled, the remaining conventional phone cases end up in landfills and in the environment.
If the customer has no way to forward the phone case to a container that forwards to an industrial composting center, Zeroish has created an incentive program, called “ZEROISH Cycle” in which the customer can send them the phone case to be forward to the industrial composting center.
